The RBH Combination Projects

Sea Turtle Conservation, Reef Replantation, Ocean Cleans-Up and Education

RBH, short for Ricky’s Beach House, is the name of our establishment where the projects are situated and financially supported.

PROJECT SUMMARY

The pioneering RBH Combination projects are focused on protecting the turtle population, coral reefs, and emphasizing the importance of maintaining a clean ocean in the fishing village of Nagari Sungai Pinang. This initiative aims to educate local residents on ecological matters, in addition to focusing on conservation efforts. This projects founded in 2016.

This endeavour is a thorough plan that intertwines preservation work with educating the local community. The project is centred on safeguarding the turtle population, the coral reefs surrounding Nagari Sungai Pinang, and clearing the ocean of plastic in the fishing village, which depends greatly on the well-being of its nearby marine ecosystem. The project uses different methods to safeguard turtles, such as monitoring their breeding grounds, safeguarding hatchlings, and rehabilitating wounded turtles. Efforts like coral planting and cleaning up reefs and oceans are implemented to protect coral reefs and ensure the well-being of these important ecosystems.

Turtles and coral reefs are crucial parts of the marine ecosystem. Turtles are essential for keeping seagrass beds and coral reefs healthy, which in turn support a variety of marine species. Nevertheless, human activities pose a threat to these species, highlighting the importance of conservation efforts such as this project.

Our project stands out because it emphasizes community participation and education. The project’s goal is to raise awareness about environmental issues among the residents of Nagari Sungai Pinang. This is accomplished through a variety of educational programs and workshops that educate community members on the significance of turtles and coral reefs, the dangers they encounter, and ways to protect them.

This serves as a great demonstration of how conservation and community education can work together. The project is making significant progress towards a sustainable future by safeguarding the turtle population and coral reefs and educating the local residents about the importance of these ecosystems. It acts as a guide of optimism, illustrating that by being committed and actively participating in the community, we can protect our valuable marine ecosystems for future generations.

In our project, we are also establishing a Youth Development Centre that includes education in art, sports, the environment, technology, science, and music. It is an admirable initiative that has the ability to make a positive difference in the lives of young people and children. The project aims to empower young individuals by offering a wide variety of programs and resources, enabling them to succeed academically, explore their creativity, adopt healthy lifestyles, advocate for the environment, and develop their musical talents. In the end, this initiative could act as a trigger for self-improvement, involvement in the community, and beneficial transformation for young individuals.

The project is situated in Nagari Sungai Pinang, a small fishing village in the southern part of Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia. It is a small, simple, traditional fishing village, yet vibrant and bustling with energy. It is extremely inviting, warm, and embraces diversity.
